Crit-Cases

An 18 month old girl is brought to emergency in a peripheral hospital. She is limp, pale and unresponsive. Her mother states she has been feeling unwell for a few hours.

Her initial observations are : Heart rate 140, BP 70/46, RR 28, Sats 94% on room air. Her temperature is 35.9 degrees celcius. Capillary return 4-5 seconds. She flexes and groans to pain, but does not open her eyes.
